CLIMBING CHALLENGE

We've created an optional climbing challenge to provide you with a goal and keep you motivated.

THE CHALLENGE

On day one, you will also have the option to set yourself a climbing elevation challenge for the duration of the 8 week programme. You can choose a total elevation target to ride  of either 5000m, 8,000m, or our mega 10,000m goal.  Each week, you'll have an average elevation target to work towards to help you hit your key milestones.

WHITE JERSEY:

TRAIN SMART WEEKLY ELEMENTS

CORE AND S&C

Each week, you will get access to 5 core and S&C session videos to help strengthen your core and key cycling muscles.

 The core workouts will target the upper abs, lower abs and obliques (sides abs), while the S&C element will focus on a specific muscle groups each day.

 You will also get access to over 65 technique videos to review if you are unsure how to complete any of the exercises correctly. 

ON BIKE SESSIONS

Twice a week you will get access to a recommended indoor training session to complete. This will have a specific climbing focus.

 If you don't have access to an indoor trainer to complete these sessions, there will also be an on bike alternative to complete outdoors.

These sessions will focus on building your climbing strength with focused power intervals and low cadence drills.

DEEP STRETCH SESSIONS

Once a week we recommend you follow the deep stretch session, a 60 minute focus on improving your flexibility, range of motion and to help aid recovery. A must for any rider looking to increase their climbing ability.

WEEKLY RIDE OUT

Finally, to bring it all together each week there is a recommended  outdoor ride. These will be progressive over the 8 weeks and give you a chance to put new climbing skills into practice, rack up your climbing elevation and track your performance improvements.

  • Our 8 Week Climb Like A Pro Programme is suitable for riders of all levels but would be geared more towards Stage 2, 3 and 4 riders due to the length! If you are looking to change the way you attack and summit any climb, this programme is for you!

Having access to the recommended equipment will help you get the best out of the programme. If you don't have or aren't able to get your hands on the recommended equipment, don't worry! There are always alternatives you can use.

To get the most out of this programme we recommend you have:

A road bicycle, comfortable cycling kit, water bottle, resistance bands and bike computer to track elevation.

Additional nice to haves include:

Exercise or yoga mat, a mix of weights or kettlebells (Handmade weights will work as well), cycling shoes, a power meter, and a heart rate monitor.

  • On day one, you'll set your challenge target for the eight-week period based on your personal ability level. Choose a total elevation target to ride over the duration of the programme: 5000m, 8000m, or our mega 10000m goal. Each week you'll have mini-elevation challenges to work towards, to help you hit your key milestones.
  • It's simple: purchase the programme and follow it at your own pace. Content will be drip fed each week to keep you on track to complete it within the recommended 8 weeks.

The group option will allow you to train and learn with other people at the same time. The programme will start on a specific date and include live class options so you can all train together online. We look to run a group Climb Like A Pro Programme every quarter throughout the year.

We strongly recommend following the order the programme has been set out in as closely as possible to see the most benefits. We do however understand that life can get in the way and the plan may not be possible to follow in the exact order that has been outlined. If you do need to change the order, we offer recommendations within the programme to ensure you continue to train smart.

There will be approximately 4.5 hours of off the bike training and 4.5 hours of on the bike training a week.

  • This programme has been designed to be completed within 8 weeks. We know life and injuries can sometimes get in the way so we have extended your access to this programme for an additional 10 days. Therefore, 66 days after the date you purchased the programme your access will be removed.
